University of Texas Sorority Houses

Chi Omega, known as Chi-O, was founded on April 5, 1895 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. The Iota Chapter was founded here at UT in 1904. Their house is located in West campus at 2711 Rio Grande Street, Austin, TX, 78705, and it comes equipped with a pool in the backyard. It’s just across the street from ADPi.

Philanthropy: Make a Wish Foundation

Each fall, the ladies of Chi-O host a Make-A-Wish Extravaganza. The Extravaganza benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a program established in order to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases and terminal illnesses. In 2010, Chi-O raised an impressive $32,000, which went to grant the wishes of six deserving children in Austin and surrounding communities.

They also participate in other sorority and fraternities philanthropy events throughout the year, including the Phi Psi Field Day, the Cowboy’s Spring BBQ , and Sigma Alpha Epsilon’s annual Cooking for Kids fundraiser.
